AFTER SCHOOL PHILIPPINE DANCE CLASS SERIES IN TORRANCE 🙌🏽✨
This pamana class is focused on learning the foundational Philippine folk dance movements. After basic drills, dancers will learn the historically-rich repertoire dances of Tinikling-- a dance integrating acute coordination training and musicality, and Sakuting-- a dance integrating martial arts and percussion. Both dances emphasize storytelling, and help develop motor skills, listening skills, and teamwork. This class is designed for children ages 5-12 years old.

knowing that our DNA will do its job and pass on our messages from my Lola to my future apo,
Extending beyond the moment,
As a message in a bottle,
Ready for me and that day.
When I sit and be still,
And open,
And just hear,
It’s not all fun and games.
It’s a resilient story,
Of overcoming violence,
That reappears today across oceans,
And right here where I am.
Will I go with the most, ignore her voice and comply with the masses?
Or commit to our morning rituals, a kindredship of trailblazers,
on a path bigger than now.
A plane that is not troubled with the human.
The plane that knows and holds its people on account.

Manariwa Dance is holding auditions for dancers experienced in Pacific Island, Philippine, and Contemporary Modern dance forms. Audition will have a group and individual portion. Come prepared with a 1-2 minute dance routine in your chosen style.
